Terms of Service

Midfame is a social app for video and photo posts, operated by Vestra AI ehf., a company registered in Iceland ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using Midfame you agree to these terms. If we change them in a way that matters, we will update the version and ask you to accept again in the app.

Who can use Midfame

You must be at least 13 years old, or older if the law where you live sets a higher minimum age for services like this. If you are under the age of majority, you confirm that a parent or guardian has agreed to these terms on your behalf where that is required. One account per person.

Your account

You sign in through our authentication provider (Clerk), with Apple, Google or your email address, and choose a name and a handle. You are responsible for what happens through your account. Accounts created to evade a suspension or to manipulate Midfame may be removed.

Member numbers

Every account gets a member number, given out in the order accounts are created. It appears on your profile and next to your posts. Your number belongs to your account: it cannot be transferred, sold or traded, and it has no monetary value.

How following works

• Midfame has no follow button. When you keep engaging with a creator's posts, Midfame follows them for you, and the follow ends again as your engagement fades over time.
• Your follower count is shown on your profile and posts. Who follows whom is not shown to anyone, and you do not see how many accounts you follow.
• How engagement turns into follows, and how the feed is ranked, may change as Midfame evolves. We may correct follower counts that come from errors or abuse.
• Manipulating follows is prohibited. This includes, among other things, using bots, scripts or multiple accounts to watch, like, comment or save, and trading engagement.

Your content

You own the videos, photos, captions and comments you post. Posts and comments are visible to other people on Midfame. For everything you post, you give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, process (for example to transcode videos and resize photos), display and distribute it in order to run and improve Midfame. We will ask before featuring your content outside Midfame, for example on our social media accounts. You must have the rights to anything you post.

What is not allowed

Among other things, the following is strictly prohibited:

• Content that sexualizes, exploits or endangers minors in any form (see our Child Safety Standards).
• Sexually explicit content and nudity.
• Illegal content, or content that promotes illegal acts.
• Harassment, threats, hate, or incitement directed at any person or group.
• Graphic violence and content that encourages self-harm.
• Impersonation of any person or organization.
• Spam, scams, malware or deceptive practices.
• Content that infringes someone else's rights.
• Automated systems used to scrape data, post content, or manipulate engagement or follows.

We may remove any content or account that we reasonably consider harmful to Midfame or the people on it, whether or not it is listed above.

Moderation and limits

Posts and profiles can be reported in the app. We may remove content, reduce how widely it is shown, and suspend or remove accounts that break these terms, with or without notice depending on severity. To prevent spam and abuse, the number of actions you can take in a period (posting, commenting and similar) is limited. To appeal a moderation decision, email vestra@vestra.is.

Our property

Vestra AI ehf. owns all rights to Midfame itself: the software, name, logos, design and everything we provide other than content people post. You may not copy, modify or redistribute parts of it without our written permission.

Leaving

You can delete any of your posts in the app, and your whole account too. A deleted account disappears at once and is permanently erased after 30 days; signing back in before then restores it. Details are in the Privacy Policy.

Disclaimers and liability

Midfame is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Vestra AI ehf. is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including loss of content, followers or reach. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Iceland. Disputes arising from them belong to the District Court of Reykjavík (Héraðsdómur Reykjavíkur), unless mandatory consumer law where you live says otherwise.
