Our commitment

Midfame is developed by Vestra AI ehf., and we are committed to a safe environment for everyone who uses it. Protecting children from harm comes before every other consideration in how we run the service.

Zero tolerance: Midfame has a zero tolerance policy for child sexual abuse material (CSAM) and any form of child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE). This includes, among other things, any content or behavior that sexually exploits, abuses, endangers or grooms children.

Age requirements

Midfame requires people to be at least 13 years old, or older where local law sets a higher minimum, as part of our Terms of Service. Everyone gives their birthday when they sign up, and accounts under the minimum age are blocked. Accounts that appear to belong to younger people are removed when identified, whether through reports or our own review.

How to report

Anything on Midfame can be reported directly in the app:

• A post: tap the three-dot menu on the post, choose "Report post", then pick a reason.
• A person: open their profile, tap the three-dot menu in the top corner, choose "Report", then pick a reason.

Reports are reviewed by our moderation team, and reports of child endangerment are prioritized above all other moderation. You can also report by email to vestra@vestra.is.

How we respond

When we become aware of content or behavior that violates these standards, our actions include:

• Immediate removal of the content.
• Permanent removal of the account involved, without warning.
• Preservation of evidence as required by law: moderation reports and related records are kept even when other data is deleted.
• Action against ban evasion, including removing accounts created to get around a ban.

Reporting to authorities

In compliance with applicable laws, we report apparent CSAM to the relevant authorities, including the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) in the United States and law enforcement in Iceland and other relevant jurisdictions. We cooperate with law enforcement investigations and provide information as required by law.

How Midfame is built

Beyond responding to reports, our ongoing work includes:

• No private messages and no groups: everything on Midfame happens in public posts and comments, which limits hidden contact between people.
• Blocking that works both ways: once either person blocks the other, neither sees the other's posts or profile.
• Limits on how many posts and comments an account can make in a period.
• Regular review of our safety policies, and continuous improvement of how we detect and prevent abuse.
